      UK Education Loans

I think that one of the most important factors that dominates our thoughts on the birth of a child, would probably be that you would like to give this new human being that you have breathed life into the best of everything that you possibly can give. One of the variables of the “best of everything” is a good education, if you can give your child a good education you can usually rest assured that they will be able to take care of themselves when you are not around or no longer able to care for them yourself. This can certainly give you peace of mind. Unfortunately not everyone’s financial circumstances can cope with the rising cost of and the pursuit for higher education in the UK ,and it may be necessary to apply for a loan to assist with your child’s education, or even your own higher education.

Higher education is a very worthwhile pursuit as the more educationally empowered you are, the better prospect you have of finding high paying work. We are not all Richard Bransons’, and obviously the better educated we are, the more able we are to take care of our needs. Education loans cater for all the needs of the student during the course of study, as there are not only costs like course fees that have to be paid, many other aspects have to also be taken into consideration. Costs such as books and course material, a computer, travel, food, boar and lodging all have to be taken into consideration when applying for an education loan.

Education loans in the UK are supported by the Government and carry very low interest rates, this is to encourage students to apply for education loans and study for higher education. Only after the potential student has decided what kind of course they would like to pursue, should they approach an institution for an education loan. An education loan only has to be repaid once the student has completed the course of their choice.

There are many sources of information and services provided online and your best research for course information and loan provider would probably be online. By using the online process a potential student will have access to many loan providers and will cut out much of the red tape involved in plodding door to door to high street banks. Education loans are also available to students with a poor or bad credit history

      Career Development Loans UK

While recently writing about secured unemployed loans in the UK I thought it would be worthwhile to mention that if you are unemployed or self employed, it is a very good time for you to consider developing your career and taking some courses to make you more skilled at what you are doing or even better your chances in seeking employment.

A career development loan will pay for almost any work related learning and can fund many different types of vocational courses. It is interesting to note that the repayments on a career development loan do not have to commence until at least one month after the course ends. A career development loan will cover expenses for approximately 80% of the course fees and in instances where you are unemployed the funding will cover 100% of the course fees providing you have been unemployed for at least three months or longer at the time of the application for a career development loan. The loan also covers other costs related to the course, such as books, travel expenses and even child care if you have children. It will also cover costs that relate to any disability. Costs such as food, travel, fuel rent and council tax will be covered although these are usually met by the Government benefit.

A career development loan can be used to pay for a wide variety of courses be they vocational or university courses and are available to the unemployed, employed or self employed person. A career development loan must take place through the financial institution of your course and in conjunction with the Learning and Skills Council. Your loan broker will be able to assist you with your enquiries and ensure that all the necessary paperwork is taken care of, whilst at the same time making sure that you obtain the best career development loan available to meet your needs.

A career development loan can be granted for amounts of ₤300 – 8 000 and will ensure that you can study for up to three years if the course of your choice includes one year of practical work experience. The Learning and Skills Council will pay the interest on your career development loan for the period of your study and up to one month after the end of the training course. The loan will be paid back by yourself at a fixed interest rate over a period of time that is suitable to you.

How to secure a Student Loan in the UK

Student loans in the UK can be applied for by approaching the Local Authority in the area in which the student lives. It has to be borne in mind that not every student who applies for a student loan will be eligible. There are quite a number of eligibility factors that are relevant to the successful application for a student loan and various criteria that determine that eligibility. A full student loan will only be decided upon once the Local Authority is aware of what, if any, additional contributions can be made by the student to the actual tuition fees.

If a student does satisfy the basic eligibility conditions, the Local Authority may grant the loan under these conditions, but generally speaking the student loan will only be approximately 75% of what is actually required. Age is another factor that is taken into consideration and the student should be below the age of fifty four years prior to the commencement of the tuition or course in order to meet the criteria for a student loan.

UK student loans are specifically for the use of students living in the British Isles and students from the European Union, overseas and the Channel Islands are unfortunately not eligible for a UK student loan. Students that have received-non means tested bursaries from the National Health Services, such as those involved in Health Studies or Nursing will not meet the criteria for student loans as they are not eligible.

Students who are successful in their application for a student loan, will be notified by the Local Authority and after this step has been taken, the student will be required to complete all the necessary documentation for submission to the Student Loans Company, the Student Loans Company will then process the loan before any student can actually enroll at the University or College of their choice.

After the student loan is granted, the Student Loans Company will pay the loan over to the student in three installments. After having enrolled for the course he/she requires, the first payment of the student loan will be made to the students’ bank account. Thereafter, following on the student supplying their student support number to the educational institution or University’s Student Funding Unit, this unit will make the Student Loans Company aware of all the details and the Student loans Company will activate the second and third student loan payment which will then also be deposited into the students bank account.
